Qualifying for Monza was pretty straight forward with a few exceptional results.
First was Force India's pace.  The Force India team was strong all weekend.  Adrian Sutil had pole position stolen from him, as the 3rd session ended, by McLarens F1 ace Lewis Hamilton.  Force India's second driver, Vitantanio Liuzzi, also mad it to the 3rd session.   This marked the first time in Force India's history that both of it's drivers made it to Q3.  Vitantanio Liuzzi, the former Suderia Torro Rosso pilot, qualified an impressive 7th.  Vitantanio Liuzzi has not been in a F1 seat for two years, making his comeback most impressive.  Liuzzi's performance also points to the ineptitude and the horrible decision making by former Torro Rosso team principal & all around F1 blowhard Gerhard Berger, who fired Liuzzi.

Second main take away was both BMW engines failing during Q2.  This does not bode well for Sauber/BMW, who need a buyer and some good fortune in order to field an F1 team in 2010.

And lastly, good to see Fisi make his debut for Ferrari.  He was a vast improvement over Luca.  Fisi made it to Q2 after crashing in Practice on Friday.

The race on Sunday should be contested by no fewer than 10 drivers...and is Hamilton's to lose.

Here is the starting grid:
